MARK MORRISS HAS REVEALED THE VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE SPACE CADET, ANIMATED BY HIS BROTHER.
Described as “a retro-futuristic love letter to the GORF generation”, Morriss’s intention for SPACE CADET was “to record something that the Human League would’ve been proud of”. It’s the second single to be lifted from his latest album A FLASH OF DARKNESS.
Scott Morriss – a freelance illustrator who previously created the distinctive artwork for all singles and albums by The Bluetones – was also bass player in the band. He’s currently out on an extensive UK tour in support of his sibling’s A FLASH OF DARKNESS, issued by Acid Jazz Records earlier this week.
Morriss’s second solo album (follow up to 2008’s MEMORY MUSCLE) enjoyed limited release in 2013 after a Pledge campaign, and he toured as part of Matt Berry’s band before signing with Acid Jazz at the end of July. In December the label issued 8-track EP THIS IS THE LIE (AND THAT’S THE TRUTH), featuring one of the stand-out songs from the album alongside a demo and six themes written for audiobook versions of children’s stories by friend David Walliams.
Mark Morriss featured in a brief ‘catch up’ edition of The Mouthcast in early January this year. Listen again here. See more work by Scott Morriss here, and order A FLASH OF DARKNESS here.
