DANNY GOFFEY

TAKE YOUR JACKET OFF AND GET INTO IT – LAST AUTUMN’S VANGOFFEY ALBUM – WAS AN EXUBERANT SOLO DEBUT FOR EX-SUPERGRASS DRUMMER DANNY GOFFEY. THERE WAS MUCH TO LIKE FOR FANS OF LATE 70s / EARLY 80s NEW WAVE BANDS LIKE SQUEEZE AND IAN DURY & THE BLOCKHEADS –  AND OTHERS WHICH GREW FROM THE MID-70s PUB-ROCK MOVEMENT.

VANGOFFEY SUCKERA new single is about to be released. SUCKER follows up the tour-de-force humour of last year’s RACE FOR LIFE and TRIALS OF A MODERN MAN. Vangoffey will also be playing a couple of showcase gigs in March. In this new edition of The Mouthcast, recorded with Goffey talking from his home in Somerset, he discusses the roots and inspirations of his new band, talks about the humour which runs through his songwriting, and also reflects on the success of Supergrass – including their major hit single ALRIGHT and the stunning 1995 debut album I SHOULD COCO. We also trade stories of meeting legendary playwright Alan Bennett…
