ANDY BARLOW IS ONE HALF OF INFLUENTIAL ELECTRO DUO LAMB, AS WELL AS A WORLD CLASS PRODUCER WITH A BREATHTAKING LIST OF CREDITS. IN 2014 BONO HIRED HIM TO WORK WITH U2…
It was the start of two years working exclusively with the band as both producer / mixer and consultant on live sound design. The result is SONGS OF EXPERIENCE, U2’s new album (released today). Barlow’s first major production work had been on David Gray’s MUTINEERS – a recording the artist himself has described as something of a reinvention, with Barlow’s open-minded approach credited for reinvigorating the songwriting process. In this new edition of The Mouthcast Barlow looks back at working with Gray, describing how it was initially not an easy job to win his trust. He also discusses the U2 album, giving a rare insight into their creative process. He also reflects on Lamb (who have a new album scheduled for 2018)…
