NEW MODEL ARMY (JUSTIN SULLIVAN)

IN THIS NEW EDITION OF THE MOUTHCAST JUSTIN SULLIVAN DISCUSSES NEW MODEL ARMY’S TWO MOST RECENT STUDIO ALBUMS, WINTER AND BETWEEN DOG AND WOLF.

Both saw a rethink of working methods and a shift in sound for the Bradford-based band, with Sullivan’s ever-prescient lyrics now framed in a subtler and more atmospheric context. Recorded the day before Theresa May’s government triggered Article 50 to begin the formal process of Brexit, in this podcast Sullivan speaks (from Bremen, Germany, where New Model Army are currently on tour) about the current political and social climate. He also reflects on how both Bruce Springsteen and punk had some bearing on his early attitudes to his work.

NMA play Sheffield Corporation on Thursday 6th April. Tickets here.
