MARK MORRISS (AT THE SUMMER SPECIAL)

006 1DURING A PERFORMANCE WHICH WAS OFTEN SUBLIME AND OCCASIONALLY RIDICULOUS, MARK MORRISS ‘SLAYED THE ROOM’ AT THE MOUTH MAGAZINE SUMMER SPECIAL LAST FRIDAY NIGHT. THE BLUETONES FRONTMAN’S SOLO ACOUSTIC SET WAS SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL INDEED.
Playing a selection of tracks from last year’s solo effort A FLASH OF DARKNESS, one or two from his forthcoming cover versions album THE TASTE OF MARK MORRISS and, of course, peppering the evening with favourites from The Bluetones, Morriss offered something for everyone. The gig took place at Café Indiependent in Scunthorpe, a relaxed and intimate venue which suited Mark’s playful stage presence and off-kilter humour. Listen now to some choice highlights of his set at the Summer Special in this new edition of The Mouthcast – which includes several glasses of Chablis and one or two surprise song choices…
