IN OCTOBER INSPIRAL CARPETS RETURNED WITH THEIR FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN TWO DECADES. A RIP-ROARING PSYCHEDELIC GARAGE-INDIE RECORD, IT’S AMONGST THE BEST OF THE BAND’S CAREER… IF NOT THE BEST.
The Mouth Magazine caught up with talismanic keyboard player Clint Boon and guitarist Graham Lambert at the soundcheck for a recent Sheffield show, to look back on Inspiral Carpets’ successful return. The group’s original singer Stephen Holt fronts for the first time since leaving back in 1988 and the album also features a mighty collaboration with legendary ‘punk poet’ John Cooper Clarke. LET YOU DOWN will be issued as the next single, in January, and Boon and Lambert look ahead to what else 2015 might hold for Inspiral Carpets…
