PAUL WELLER IS SET TO FOLLOW-UP MODERN CLASSICS – HIS SINGLES ALBUM FROM 1998 – WITH A NEW COMPILATION ON 2ND JUNE. MORE MODERN CLASSICS COVERS 1999 TO 2014, WITH STANDALONE SINGLES FEATURED ALONGSIDE TRACKS FROM HELIOCENTRIC, ILLUMINATION, WAKE UP THE NATION, AS IS NOW, 22 DREAMS, STUDIO 150  AND SONIK KICKS.

MORE MODERN CLASSICS will also include BRAND NEW TOY, issued last weekend as a limited edition single for Record Store Day. Weller’s work in the period covered by the new compilation has seen him push his songwriting through many different genres – from the late-Sixties psychedelia of HELIOCENTRIC to the pastoral folk rock tinges of 22 DREAMS to the post-punk / Krautrock experimentation of WAKE UP THE NATION and SONIK KICKS. In new sleevenotes for MORE MODERN CLASSICS, he says: “This compilation is over 15 years but it feels like it could be five or six. I’m rushing through, like I can’t slow it down. I’ll cling on tight and see where it ends up”…
