BETH ORTON : CENTRAL RESERVATION reissue

BETH ORTON’S MERCURY NOMINATED 1999 ALBUM CENTRAL RESERVATION IS TO BE REISSUED AS A DOUBLE-DISC EDITION BY EVER-LOVING LABEL 3LOOP THIS COMING JUNE – AND SHE WILL PLAY IT IN FULL AT A HANDFUL OF SHOWS IN JULY.
CENTRAL RESERVATION fulfilled the promise of her critically acclaimed 1996 release TRAILER PARK, contained the hit single STOLEN CAR and featured guest appearances from Terry Callier (a duet on PASS IN TIME), guitarist Ben Harper (on LOVE LIKE LAUGHTER) and Dr Robert (butterfly wing piano on SWEETEST DECLINE).
CENTRAL RESERVATION had one foot in the classic feel of records past, while Ben Watt’s cool electronica production tinges – including an upbeat version of the title track – situated Orton in the present.
The reissue version of the album will contain a second disc featuring rarities compiled by Orton herself – a full live session performance, b-sides from both singles associated with it, and a handful of previously unreleased demo recordings. It is available to pre-order here.
