MORRISSEY : double disc reissue of VAUXHALL AND I

MORRISSEY’S MASTERPIECE – 1994 ALBUM VAUXHALL AND I – IS TO BE REISSUED ON VINYL AND DOUBLE-CD IN JUNE, SHORTLY BEFORE THE RELEASE OF WORLD PEACE IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, HIS FIRST NEW WORK SINCE 2009.

vaux deluxeDitching the previous habit of tinkering with track listings for albums in the Morrissey reissue campaign, VAUXHALL AND I remains as it was twenty years ago, though the second disc features a previously unreleased concert performance recorded at the Theatre Royal in London’s Drury Lane during the February 1995 tour.
The live set features five songs from VAUXHALL AND I, three from predecessor YOUR ARSENAL, all three from the BOXERS single, plus favoured b-side JACK THE RIPPER, and covers of The Smiths’ LONDON and Henry Mancini cover version MOONRIVER (first made famous by Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in the film BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S).
The new edition of VAUXHALL AND I has been remastered by Bill Inglot, and will feature ‘previously unused photographs’ in the packaging. We ran a retrospective celebrating the album’s two decade anniversary, featuring interviews with Woodie Taylor (drums), Jonny Bridgwood (bass) and Boz Boorer (guitar and co-writer of five songs).
