AS IF THE THRILL OF A NEW SINGLE FROM THE WEDDING PRESENT WASN’T QUITE ENOUGH, THIS MONTH ALSO SEES THE SURPRISE RELEASE OF THE FIRST NEW MATERIAL IN A DECADE FROM DAVID GEDGE’S OTHER PROJECT. 
Previously unissued Cinerama track I WAKE UP SCREAMING  will be released as a 7″ by Texan label Artificial Head on October 27th.
I WAKE UP SCREAMING was co-written by Gedge and ex-The Wedding Present / Cinerama bassist Terry De Castro, and is backed by a new live version of UNZIP (originally from 2000 album DISCO VOLANTE). Despite not recording under the name Cinerama for ten years, it’s an annual tradition for Gedge to perform a set of the project’s songs during his ever-popular AT THE EDGE OF THE SEA festival in Brighton, and this particular live recording is from 2012.
There will be 500 copies of the 7″ single pressed: 400 on pink vinyl and 100 on mixed colour. All pre-orders (here) will receive the mixed colour version. Gedge has stated that, as with The Wedding Present’s new 7″ TWO BRIDGES, a small quantity of the I WAKE UP SCREAMING single will be available during The Wedding Present’s forthcoming UK tour. If there are any copies left over after the dates have ended, they will be available from the band’s online store, here.
