GALTRES FESTIVAL

NORTH YORKSHIRE VILLAGE CRAYKE PLAYED HOST TO THE GALTRES FESTIVAL THIS LAST WEEKEND, AND THE MOUTH MAGAZINE WAS THERE TO COVER THE EVENT.

It was a terrifically warm occasion, in spirit if not weather, and with so much going on at every turn of the festival’s muddy lanes, it was impossible for our small team to be in more than one place at once… but we have managed to conjure some magic for you. This special edition of The Mouthcast contains our highlights of the weekend.
Billy Bragg talks us through his thoughts on the current government, and how Mo Farah makes him feel, Steve Diggle of Buzzcocks proves a charming dressing room host as he explains why he thinks punk veterans Buzzcocks are still as relevant in 2012 as in the late ’70s, Mark Morriss talks about why The Bluetones split up and his plans for the future, and Martin Stephenson and Victoria Hume both give us exclusive live performances in The Mouth Magazine Live Sessions.

That’s not all! We also chat to Fyfe Dangerfield of Guillemots about his band’s four-albums-in-a-year plans, Leeds band Fossil Collective talk about what it’s like to be ‘on the verge’ of something, and Kai West from Littlemores tells us about playing festivals as opposed to sweaty clubs. Galtres Compere Andy Atkinson rounds up The Mouthcast – and the weekend – perfectly, with some well chosen words. Make yourself a cup of tea, put your feet up and enjoy this 48-minute digest of what proved to be an exceptionally successful weekend… Roll on Galtres Festival 2013!
